Blue Ridge, Georgia Birthday Getaway

Blue Ridge is a mountain town in Northern Georgia, located about 90 miles north of Atlanta. I’ve heard so much about this small mountain town…it’s shops and art galleries, dining, and charming trains…that when it was time to plan my birthday weekend family getaway, I knew this was the place to go!

Dozens of shops, restaurants and art galleries line the streets of the mountain town. Blue Ridge was ranked by Southern Living Magazine as one of the 2021 South’s Best Mountain Towns, and 2019 Top Small Mountain Towns for Retirement.
Enjoying the shopping scene.
Mitzi’s on Main was one of my favorite spots. Cute home decor at good prices.
The Blue Ridge Scenic Railway takes you on a ride along the Toccoa River on its four hour tour. We will go on it when Kennedy is a little older!
Blue Ridge was established as a railroad town, with the depot at its heart. It was a great spot to celebrate my 41st birthday.
Kennedy looking all sassy and cute!
We stayed at the Hampton Inn downtown. The hotel had a rooftop bar and restaurant with great views!
The view from the hotel rooftop.
We had lunch al fresco at Whiskey and Water just off of the busy downtown shopping strip. The seared diver scallops appetizer was delicious!
My fish tacos were so tasty. I highly recommend Whiskey and Water
We had such a fun time! It’s a great spot for a little family getaway!

With it’s shopping, dining, hiking trails and mountain vibes, Blue Ridge, Georgia should be added to your mountain town vacay bucket list! We will certainly be back!
