Farmhouse Reno: Bedrooms Before and After

What a month at our farmhouse reno! Our upstairs is freshly painted and the floors refinished! They turned out beautiful! Can’t you tell with all the exclamation points I’m super excited?!

Paint: For hall walls and guest room, we used White Dove by Benjamin Moore and Revere Pewter also by Benjamin Moore for trim. It is light, airy and gorgeous. We went with Lush by BM for Kennedy’s room and Coventry Grey for the master bedroom. Shoutout to Jerry Williams and his team for a great paint job. He will be working on the downstairs next!

Floors: We also refinished the original pine floors. The awesome team at Coker Custom Floors sanded, stained and sealed the floors in 3 days! It was incredible and the outcome is beyond gorgeous! They sanded them down to the original wood, then added one coat of MinWax Special Walnut stain and topped it off with two coats of satin poly. They are more natural and light…a gorgeous transformation. I highly recommend Coker Custom Floors for anyone in the Northeast Georgia area wanting to freshen up your floors.

Take a look at these before and after photos of the bedrooms:

GUEST ROOM BEFORE (previously my aunt’s bedroom)
GUEST ROOM AFTER!
KENNEDY’S ROOM BEFORE (previously guest room—I slept in this room many times growing up!)
KENNEDY’S ROOM AFTER! The walls are painted Lush by Benjamin Moore. At first I had ceiling green too..then realized it was too dark. Had painters lighten it up with white ceiling. It set us back half a day, but it was worth it. And also loving the beautiful floors!
MASTER BEDROOM BEFORE…ignore the mattress! It’s our mattress from New Orleans. We slept here a few nights before our AirBNB was ready.
MASTER BEDROOM AFTER! We chose Coventry Grey by Benejamin Moore for our walls and trim and it looks wonderful. It’s very sophisticated. The floors really pop in here too. They seem brighter than the rest of the refinished floors. The vibrant color of the floors freaked me out at first because they are so different looking from before (in a good way)..I love them now! Just took some getting used to! This room was originally my grandmother’s. Can’t believe it is now my bedroom!

Renovating a house isn’t easy. It takes time, patience, laser focus and confidence in those helping make your vision a reality. I’ve lost it a few times when things weren’t going as fast or efficient as I planned. But at the end of the day, things got done and the outcome is amazing

I’ll be sharing upstairs bathroom photos next! Thanks for following along!
